What I saw?
What I saw turned out to be nothing at all

I can see the clock
Turning at its leisure

What I saw?

I can see her face
I’ve just read her letter
She says she wants to go
So I think you better let her

What did I mean?
What I mean is that you don’t know what I’ve seen

I can see the words

Author’s Note

I’ve had an idea in my head about this one for a long time, so one of the key reasons for these demos is to have something to listen to that is closer to my final intentions.

As always, I’m mindful of the time constraints. I took a few days off last week so the deadline is once again under pressure, but even within the time frame I feel like I’m start to get close to what I’m hoping for and this time, I was also able to add a bunch of new lyrics and resolve some older ones that weren’t quite there.

The series now has a name, which is The Song Demo Series. As you can imagine, I’ve spent months workshopping that name. With every series, there must be a list, which I have now updated. This list is on Medium. I’m working on an index for Substack as we speak:
